In
the southwest corner of Vermont is a series of valleys nestled between
the green mountains to the east and the Taconics to the west. This is
Bennington County, an area where sugar maple trees thrive. Each spring
the cold nights and the warm days cause the Maple Sap to flow. Families
throughout the county gather that sap, boil it down, and produce some
of the best maple syrup in Vermont.
>>>>>The
Bennington County Sugarmakers Association (BCSA) is a group of maple
producers who have joined together to share their ideas and their love
for making maple products. Each January the BCSA hosts a Maple School
in which sugarmakers gather for a day of learning and sharing ideas.
We also host a summer picnic which is a chance to see one another in
the off season. For more information please go the Maple
Meetings section of the website.
>>>>>
In march the BCSA hosts an
event called Maple Sunday. On this day participating sugar houses are
open to the public. Please go to the Maple Sunday section of the site
for more information about this popular event.
>>>>>If
you are interested in purchasing maple products click on the members
list. This will provide you with the names of the sugarmakers, the various
products they have available, and how to contact them.
Thanks for visiting the site. Hope to see you in the saphouse! |
